Subject: Final email - Robin Olds Estate Auctions

Hello All,

There are currently over 100 Robin items on www.manions.com in a big auction which will end October 25th. Manion's seems to have saved some very important pieces for last. The banner for this month is two-thirds of the way down the home page. All items that remain unsold from this auction and all those unsold from the last few months will be "fire-sold" at lowered prices in an auction starting November 1st and ending the last Sunday in November (29th), at which point all the sales will be over, whether or not the total probate debt has been met.

There are also two items currently on RRAuction, which is ending Oct. 15th #379 Aviation Pioneers Book signed by all the pilots who were the first to fly around the world in 1924 and #380, a 1997 3-piece Gathering of Eagles lithograph signed by 16 pilots.

I am FOREVER grateful to the RRVA (Red River Valley Pilots Association)!!!! They raised a donation amount significant enough to save the majority of my dad's important museum pieces. My sister and daughter and I are thrilled that Robin's legacy will be preserved in one large collection at the National Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio (Wright-Patterson AFB) where Robin Olds's F-4 resides in weary, battle-scarred glory. To say the least, it will be exciting and emotional to see his memorabilia at rest beside his beloved Phantom. If all goes well, the display will be up next spring/summer. Also, the majority of Robin's historically significant papers, letters, documents, military records and photographs will go to the archival library at the United States Air Force Academy. Thank you again, River Rats! Your rescue mission has succeeded.

On a note much happier than the auctions and the long agony of handling this probate, the book I finished of my dad's memoirs, with the invaluable help and patience of Ed Rasimus, will be out next May for sure. The publisher has sent me the final design for the front cover of the book and it is spectacular. Advance reviews are wonderful and I have to believe that Robin is well-pleased that his stories will reach a whole new generation of aviators and history buffs.

Thanks to all of you for putting up with these emails.
I am happy to finally let go of this part of the Olds "legacy"!
Cheers and best wishes to all,

Christina
