Clacton in the 1950s by Ron Hastings
Ron Hastings referred to these as "The Seaside," which is what the locals would call it.

Remember the "Steel Stella" - the roller-coaster on the
pier? I thought it was called "Wild Mouse" but just found a reference to Steel Stella being on Clacton Pier from 1937 to 1973
